Motivation
Currently, NDN still lacks an effective congestion control mechanism. Moreover, NDN-RTC has known performance problems which may be partly related to congestion. Thus, we try to implement a simple congestion control mechanism in NDN-RTC and show the benefits in a performance evaluation.
Tasks
- Run multi-consumer tests using ndncon on local testbed:
- Start small: 1 consumer, 2 consumers, 3 consumers
- Goal:Break ndncon/NFD - obtain unsatisfactory (from QoE standpoint) performance
- Evaluating the performance in multiple scenarios
- Figure out root causes of poor perfomance
- Parse crititcal NDN-RTC metrics:
- RTT', RTT estimation, Pipeline size, Buffer indicators
- Analyze gathered metrics and identify "bad scenarios"
- Come up with solution and propose changes to NDN-RTC and/or NFD
- Present results
